Happiness writes white, they say, but love, violence, fire, danger, wine, carnival, red-blooded passions, fury, and ruddy good cheer all call on shades from vermillion to crimson for their special effects: think of Red Riding Hood, the red, red robin, O'Casey's Red Roses for Me, Poe's Masque of the Red Death, Warren Beatty's Reds, Mark Haddon's The Red House, Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, Conan-Doyle's Study in Scarlet, H.E. Bates' The Scarlet Sword & Stephen Crane's The Red Badge of CourageIn poetic terms there's Tennyson's now sleeps the crimson petal, William Carlos Williams' absolute dependence upon a red wheelbarrow, Yeats' blood dimmed tide (and Red Hanrahan), Sarah Corbett's Red Wardrobe, Louise Glúck's The Red Poppy, and Sharon Olds' visceral He is wearing red/ like the inside of the body/ exposed ('On the Subway')
Come & listen to invited guest poets' favourite poems, and their own poems, red in tooth and claw… and win vin rouge (ou vin blanc) in our come-on-you-reds not-too-literary prize quiz for the well-red!

Trace Bundy must be seen, not just heard. His music is poetry in motion, using harmonics, looping, multiple capos, and his unique banter and stage presence to deliver an unforgettable live concert experience. Listening to his intricate arrangements is one thing, but seeing the fan-dubbed "Acoustic Ninja" play live confounds even the most accomplished music lovers as to how one person can do all that with just two hands and ten fingers.
Trace has independently sold over 80,000 albums on his record label, Honest Ninja Music, and regularly sells-out shows with standing ovations at venues across the USA and around the world, in 22 countries and counting. Video clips circulate virally at astonishing speed, with over 28,000,000 YouTube views to date.
A couple years back, Trace was named "Most Promising New Talent" by Acoustic Guitar Magazine, as well as winning third place in the magazine's "Best Fingerstyle Guitarist" category the same year. Trace has shared the stage with Brandi Carlile, Olivia Newton-John, Neko Case, Judy Collins, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Phil Keaggy, David Wilcox, Josh Garrels, Andy McKee, David Knopfler (Dire Straits), Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney & Wings), Chris Hillman (the Byrds), Stanley Jordan, and MOFRO, among others.
Audiocast Magazine from Austin, TX says: "Bundy's live show is without a doubt an event that needs to be witnessed rather than told about. With such a jaw-dropping performance, Bundy's live concert is a slap in the face that would leave a palm print on the memory of everyone in the audience."
You'll agree that Trace Bundy must be seen, not just heard.

WORDSMITHS & COThe UK's first live poetry talk show, featuring poets you know from the pages of books and from festival stages
A rare opportunity to witness them sharing stories, poems and opinions as they engage in no-holds-barred conversation right before your widened eyes
This time, the indomitable Jo Bell will bring you poems and conversation from Deborah Tyler-Bennett, Joe Coghlan, Hannah Silva & Helen Ivory
A very special line-up to finally kick-start spring!
Deborah Tyler-Bennett‘s poems bristle with subtle and laconic style
They go beyond renderings of lives past, anecdotes told, and look instead to explore gaps in biographies, real people behind characters
Joe Coghlan is a writer currently based in Derby, who blends the rhythms and rhyme schemes of rap with the breathing space of good story telling
A unique and intense performer, Joe is currently making a name for himself on the spoken word scene on stages across the country
Helen Ivory won an Eric Gregory Award in 1999 and then disappeared into a field in the Norfolk countryside to look after two thousand free-range hens
When she emerged ten or so years later, she had two collections with Bloodaxe Books and had helped, with her own bare hands, to build several houses
Hannah Silva has shown her work internationally including at the Tokyo Design Centre, Krikri International Festival of Polyphony in Belgium and Poetry Hearings in Berlin
She has performed her poetry throughout the UK at festivals including Latitude, the Edinburgh Fringe, Ledbury Festival and Stanza
Her solo show Opposition toured nationally 2011-12 and was described in a five star review by What's on Stage as ‘radical, political, courageous'
