The Basement, 29 Reiby Pl, Circular Quay
Each and every Tuesday night, The Basement transforms into a den of big brass and swing dancing. Join us for swing dance classes in the venue from 7pm and then stick around and put your moves to the test as the Basement Big Band play 2 sets from 8.30pm.
With one foot firmly planted in the rich history of Swing Era America and the other Lindy Hopping into the now, The Basement Big Band are our very own 15 piece dance orchestra lead by Justin Fermino and installed in Sydney's oldest live music venue.
With a nod to Harlem's Cotton Club or New Orleans' Preservation Hall, the Basement Big Band marrys original compositions with classic tunes from the roaring 20's and 30's - a must see for lovers of swing music and irresistibly danceable.
