"Unforgettable" - A Valentine's Day Tribute

Come and join us for the most romantic, sparkling and joyful Valentine's Day celebration in town, as the Niels Lan Doky International Jazz Collective presents its brand new production of Nat King Cole's timeless songs and the National Museum's new award winning caterer Madkastellet cooks up a storm. A genuine feast for the senses is guaranteed as Copenhagen's iconic museum opens its doors and we welcome you to an unforgettable night of great music, food, drinks and love.

The mesmerizing American vocalist Desmond Scaife Jr. will be the featured star on our journey through classic Nat King Cole songs like “Route 66”, “Unforgettable”, “Let There Be Love”, “Candy” and “For Sentimental Reasons". He will be accompanied by none less than the legendary French bassist Pierre Boussaguet who has done world tours with Diana Krall, Michel Legrand and numerous other greats - and the incredible American drummer Victor Jones, world famous for his long standing association with Stan Getz. And some surprise guests artists can be expected.

The menu is curated by Madkastellet's chefs especially for this unique event and will feature an hors d'oeuvre of Icelandic sustainable salmon (smoked in Copenhagen) accompanied by Japanese Nashi pear pickled in elderflower with green gooseberries, onion purée with lemon verbena and buckwheat and homemade sourdough bread and organic butter - and a main course consisting of French quail stuffed with Karl Johan mushrooms and porc and accompanied by winter greens with a sauce of salted fresh coriander seeds. Side dishes include homemade spiced duck sausage with ginger and fennel and a potato purée with herbs and pickled shallots. And finally a dessert of plums pickled in Yuzo brandy and long pepper, ice cream of Polynesian vanilla with roasted almonds and meringue. "The menu will also include snacks, petit fours and coffee at the end. Drinks to be ordered separately a la carte from our drinks menu.
